Conflict of Interest

This Conflict of Interest Policy aims to assist authors, reviewers, and editors in recognizing and effectively handling any personal situations or interests that may be seen as affecting their contributions to the Latin American Business and Sustainability Studies Review (LABSREVIEW). The objective is to preserve transparency and ensure the integrity of the academic record.

Terms or concepts.

Conflict of Interest arises when an individual's interests, ties, or affiliations can undermine or give the impression of undermining their impartiality or fairness in publishing.

Scope

Applicability This policy is relevant to all personnel engaged in the editorial process, encompassing authors, peer reviewers, editors, and members of the editorial board of Latin American Business and Sustainability Studies Review (LABSREVIEW).

Responsibilities

Authors Conflict Disclosure: Authors must state any affiliations or interests that could influence or give the appearance of controlling their work. However, examples are not restricted to financial interests such as employment, consultancies, stock ownership, honoraria, patents, personal ties, or academic competitiveness.

Requirement: The manuscript must include a declaration of potential conflicts of interest. This declaration should be included under the "Conflict of Interest" heading.

Reviewers must report any conflicts of interest that may influence their judgments of the manuscript. They must abstain from examining those articles if bias is possible.

Reviewers must uphold confidentiality and refrain from utilizing any information in the text for personal gain before its publication.

Editors and members of the Editorial Board

Conflict Management: Editors and board members must disclose any personal or financial relationships that may be perceived as exerting inappropriate influence on their responsibilities.

Recusal from Decisions: If an editor or board member possesses a conflict of interest with a submitted manuscript, they must abstain from participating in any editorial decisions.

Methods

Submission Process: Authors must disclose any potential conflicts of interest throughout the submission.

Review Process: Editors will utilize the information provided by the authors to oversee the review process. Reviewers are required to disclose any conflicts of interest after they have been invited to review a paper.

Publication: The published article must include disclosures to alert readers unless the disclosures are considered irrelevant or related to a rejected submission.

Conflict Management

If conflicts that have been revealed are considered to undermine the integrity of the work possibly, Latin American Business and Sustainability Studies Review (LABSREVIEW) may take actions such as:

Implementing the allocation of distinct reviewers or editors

Displaying conflict of interest disclosures with the article.

When faced with intense confrontations, refusing to accept the submission.
