About the Journal

Aim

The Latin American Business and Sustainability Studies Review (LABSREVIEW) aims to be a leading journal for scholarly research on business and sustainability practices within the Latin American context. We strive to bridge academic inquiry and practical insights, contributing to a deeper understanding of how business strategies and sustainability are interwoven in this diverse and dynamic region. We seek to provide a platform for rigorous analysis, fostering interdisciplinary dialogue that resonates within and beyond Latin America.

Scope

LABSREVIEW encompasses many topics at the intersection of business and sustainability in Latin America. The journal invites contributions from various disciplines, including, but not limited to, business administration, economics, environmental studies, sociology, and political science. Our scope includes:

  1. Governments, Institutions, Education and Corporate Sustainability: Strategies for a Changing Landscape: Exploring the convergence of government policies, educational institutions, and corporate practices in achieving sustainability goals within a dynamic environment. Both theoretical and data-driven contributions are welcome. 
  2. Digital Transformation: Investigating the influence of digital technologies and strategies on education, industry, research, and innovation, as well as data analytics and other emergent technologies.
  3. Marketing, challenges, and business performance: Examining theoretical and practical aspects of marketing, including the difficulties faced in marketing strategies and their impact on corporate outcomes. We welcome studies focusing on entrepreneurial and marketing matters in cross-national and cross-cultural settings. These studies may involve evaluating competitive landscapes, identifying target markets, measuring brand value, exploring adaptation and standardization strategies, examining social media marketing, analyzing marketing data, and investigating corporate social responsibility. We also welcome articles on digital marketing tools for investigating and targeting affinity audiences and exploring cultural, social, legal, and economic disparities.
  4. Human Capital, Culture, Ethics, Leadership, and Sustainability: Driving Change in Organizations: Understanding the interconnectedness of human capital, organizational culture, ethics, leadership, and sustainability in promoting beneficial transformations within organizations. Also, exploring the significance of human capital in achieving organizational success delves into subjects such as talent management, employee development, diversity and inclusion, employee engagement, and the role of human resources in improving organizational performance. 
  5. Developing Sustainable Innovation and Entrepreneurship: Showcasing sustainability, innovation, and entrepreneurship convergence in propelling beneficial transformation and generating enduring value. Also, investigate how innovation can tackle societal, environmental, and economic obstacles, enhance the utilization of resources, and cultivate favorable social outcomes. 
  6. Decision Science, Accounting, Economics, and Finance: Investigating investment and financing choices, financial and corporate disclosure, and risk mitigation. We accept submissions in finance and accounting, sustainable finance, international company management, and corporate. We encourage original research on the factors that influence governance practices, including legal, financial, and political institutions, and their impact on performance, outcomes, accounting standards, financial reporting quality, tax planning practices, financial risk management practices, corporate social responsibility practices, bank lending, capital market development, venture capital development, and mergers. We welcome articles that analyze the impact of global investors on corporate strategies, encompassing international private equity, sovereign wealth funds, international hedge funds, and crowdsourcing. We invite submissions focusing on utilizing Generative AI tools in teaching Operations Management and Analytics, specifically addressing practices, shared difficulties, and novel applications. 
  7. Information Systems and Knowledge Management in Organizations: Investigating tools, methods, and technologies employed to gather, retain, arrange, and distribute data and information.
